A soft place for a snooze

Sue was watching something on TV the other day, Standing right in the patch of sunlight that I wanted. So I used her feet as a pillow. Very comfy.

I'm getting old

Not OLD like Uncle Chino, but older. I am now 10 months old, not long to go before I'm a whole year old.

I had to have a bath yesterday. It was yukky. I smelt horrible afterwards. Then I went and played with my ball and got all dirty again!

That'll teach her.

Bog blog!

Well, what do humans need toilet paper for anyway? Really, there's a whole packet of it in the littlest room. One roll never goes amiss.

Anyway, it's Sue's fault for leaving me unattended.

Failure!

Well, the obedience lady was not nice. She said that I was going to fail the course. Why? Because to pass you have to sit and lie straight, not how is comfortable to you.

But Sue defended me and said that we weren't here for competition obedience, we were here to socialise me and to do basic, domestic obedience and if I wanted to lie on my side and wave my legs in the air that was fine by her as long as I followed the wait command.

The lady next to use said that I was good at the wait command. But Sue said that the real reason I was staying put was that I was sulking. That's was true. I wanted to go see that cute little spaniel but Sue kept putting me back in palce and in the end I did sulk.

This week we have to learn STAY! The stay command is only good if your human is within wrangling range. After that it's the fatest man wins. And I'm pretty quick!

An exciting week

Well, I had my first day at dog obedience this week. Who would have thought that we got sent home with homework! I have to learn to lay down on command and come. I wouldn't lay down on the night as I was too excited about this cute little spaniel next to me who kept giving me the come on, but Sue's been training me and I think I've got the idea now.

As for "come". I don;t need to learn that cause I know that one already. I'm so good at come that I don;t muck around going around people/dogs/things - I just go straight through/over/under then. I'm superdog when it comes to come.

Today I went to the park. Sue made me do the down command a few times. We went down a new track and guess what? There was a stream there. Sue let me off and I paddled. Then I climbed on a rock and then I tired to jump to the next rock and slipped in. OMG it was cold. That waters straight off the mountain. My testicles were submerged in that freezing water. Will they be any good still? They might have frozen off and Holly's counting on me.

Anyway, must go. Holly's looking lonely.

Camping is cool!

Even if there are no pictures because someone forgot to pack the camera.

We went to another dog show and this time we camped in the tent. We didn't get much sleep cause some locals decided to have a huge fight down in the river, and the police came and then some one from the fight was calling for their lost dog for hours. I do hope that "Fang" was found.

Anyway, I still managed to perform properly and got two challenges. That means I have four in total and am halfway to becoming a champion.

If I just sit up here

I'll know when she moves, when she breathes, when she snorts. Banderbear is so lovely. My bestest friend in the world. Sue says a friend with benefits. Now if I could just work out how to slip that bolt open.....

Wow, my first shows!

I went to my first dog shows on the weekend. We were meant to go camping but it was so wet and cold that we decided that we would go down each day. We had to get up really early. Banderbear of course whined all the way about missing our on her beauty sleep.

I did well. I won two challenge certificates. I only need six more to make me a champion. If I'm really lucky I might get one next weekend at the National Dog Show.

Hannah showed me for junior handler and I was really good for her too. Can't wait to next weekend so I can see Ngarimu and Maris again.

All my Aussie family will be jealous!

Things are a little different in New Zealand. In Australia were I was born 'possums are protected and we aren't allowed to eat them.

But here in New Zealand they are a horrible imported pest. Jimbos Pet Food have made a new meat pattie, using possums! Yep, those cute furry Aussie invaders are dog food! Tonight was our first taste and I gotta say, they went down faster than an Aussie Yacht!

Apparently we are being environmentally friendly by eating them. I don't care about that. All I care about is they taste yum.

I bet my bro and sister in Oz will be jealous that they don't get possum for dinner.

What a busy day!

We got up really early after we foudn out there had been a big earthquake in the South Island. We looked at the photos and hoped all out friends are ok.

Then it was time for us to go out and play. I went out the front with Banderbear and we played till I got bored. I spotted the pretty fluffy meowy thing from next door. I just had to say hello! So I broke through the netting. But by that time she had run off. She must be shy. Anyway, then I couldn't find my way back through. Luckily Sue spotted me and came to my rescue.

Then she spent lots of time fixing the fence all up and hoping that the fencers can come soon to put the new one up. She banned me from visiting next door ever again.

Then when we came inside and found we had a swimming pool! Our very own indoor pond. The washing machine had died and spilled water everywhere. Oops. So Sue started to clean up the water and broke the mop! It's only a new mop and it bend in half. Things were so hot in the laundry that the water evaporated!

After that it was time for show training. It was hard work and at one stage I threw a hissy fit because I didn't want to do stuff any longer. We always have a talk after training and this time we had a walk aroudn the field. I played with a Leonburger, a Golden Retriever and a Sheltie. The leo chased me, then I chased her back.

I wish I could go back to Wellington and have a play with the Wellywood dogs in that neach they took me too. I'm so good at recalls I can run free, just like Banderbear.

Sharing is good

Sue was sitting in the chair when Aura got up behind her and snuggled down. Then I wanted to get up too but there wasn't room for me so I had to sit ontop of Aura. Lucky she doesn't mind too much. Sue gets that little bit at the front.

Finally i get to post!

The computers been away getting fixed. It wasn't anything that I did! It was the thingy that recharges it. It got looser and looser then fell right out. Someone has been going through withdrawals. Anyways, while I was waiting to have my turn I took my frustration out on Sue's slipper. It was once a nice woolly one. Once I got sick of pulling off fluff I started on a piece of firewood. Good for my teeth.

A Ziggy pie!

Holly got up onto the lazy boy. It's not fair if she gets all the chair so Banderbear and me got up too. It got a bit rough with all of us started pushing for the best position.

I goy squished under both the girls, then they worked together to push me off. NOT FAIR!

Give it back!

Banderbear popped my ball, then wouldn't give it back! It's not fair. It's mine.

A hole lot of trouble.

Look what I did! I dug a hole! No one helped me. I did it all alone. It's a water hole for me to wallow in when it gets really hot, till then I'll just keep enlarging it.

Resting in the sun

Even though it was sunny on and off today it was too cold to do much outside. We did shift some compost into the veggie garden and then we had a rest inside while the chooks where let out to shift it all round and pick out the bugs.

Me in my new home

Here's me with my best friend Banderbear. Isn't she lovely. She has this really cool toy to play with and she shared it with me.

We played really hard till we were tired out. Then Aura came along and told use to settle down before we broke a leg.

Gi'day cobbers!

Crikey, what are they doing to me? Shoved in a little plastic box, made to wait for hours, shoved in an aeroplane and not even given a window seat, let alone a meal.

Finally I get transported to a really cold shed, then these men come and look at me, and I was so pleased to see them I tinkled on the table!

Then it was off to this place with two other dogs just like me. And two furry things called kats. Me and the dogs had a bit of trouble understanding each other to start with cause they speak some sort of colonial dialect. Not the Queen's English like me.

I had heaps of fun there. We went to the beach and played in the sand, then later on in the day some more like me arrived. They spoke strangly too. But I really hit it off with one called Banderbear. She likes playing just like me.

The next day Banderbear and I went to a dog show. It was cool! So many people to talk to and dogs too.

Then off I went home with Banderbear. Far away from where I was born.
